Superblock introduces Superblock Ether (ETHx) as the native gas token, ensuring seamless transactions within the Superblock ecosystem. ETHx is integral to the Superblock blockchain, serving as the primary medium for paying gas fees, thereby facilitating blockspace usage.
Users can acquire ETHx through the Superblock Layer 2 bridge, utilizing two main approaches:
Bridging ETH from Ethereum Mainnet: Users can bridge ETH, the native gas token on the Ethereum mainnet, directly to Superblock. Upon doing so, they receive ETHx, the native gas token on the Superblock chain.
Bridging ETHx (ERC20) from Ethereum Mainnet: Alternatively, users can bridge ETHx, an ERC20 token on the Ethereum mainnet, to Superblock. This process also results in receiving ETHx as the native gas token on the Superblock chain.
When users wish to return ETHx from Superblock to Ethereum, they receive ETHx as an ERC20 token on the Ethereum mainnet.
Additionally, users can bridge Wrapped ETH (WETH) through the native L2 bridge, which will result in receiving WETH on Superblock. However, it is important to note that WETH cannot be unwrapped into ETH on Superblock, as ETH is exclusively represented by ETHx within the Superblock ecosystem.
Superblock Ether (ETHx) not only powers transactions but also embodies the innovative approach of Superblock to streamline gas fee payments, ensuring efficient and effective operations on the blockchain.
